Curriculum Overview

Our English‑medium kindergarten follows the local curriculum set out in the Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide (2017). We combine structured teaching with play‑based, hands‑on learning across the six key learning areas to support each child’s holistic development. The curriculum is culturally responsive and places strong emphasis on exploration and inquiry. Regular educational outings extend classroom learning and help children connect with Hong Kong’s diverse cultures and environment. The programme is designed to be accessible for our diverse student population, including Chinese‑speaking (CS) and non‑Chinese‑speaking (NCS) children and children from ethnic minority communities, through differentiated activities, visual supports and targeted language scaffolding.

Play, But Not Simply Play! Integrated, Semi Play-Based Learning

Our semi play-based approach combines child-led exploration with the effectiveness of structured, teacher-guided activities. This fosters students’ creativity, problem-solving and collaboration skills across English, Mathematics and other learning domains.

Theme-Based Approach for Effective Learning

Our theme-based approach integrates the six learning areas — Language, Early Childhood Mathematics, Nature and Living, Self and Society, and others — through engaging real-life topics such as Myself, Seasons and Community Helpers. By exploring a single theme from multiple perspectives, students develop deeper understanding and make meaningful connections across domains.

Storybook Approach Customised for Chinese Learning

Our storybook approach is specifically designed to make Chinese learning engaging and effective. Through captivating Chinese stories developed in collaboration with university experts, children build a strong language foundation via rhymes, role-play and culturally rich narratives. Specialised learning resources are also provided to support non-Chinese speaking students, ensuring every child can thrive.

Real-World Adventures Bring Lessons to Life

From educational outings to cultural festivals, our curriculum transforms play into meaningful learning experiences. Museum visits and community explorations help students connect classroom learning with the world around them.
